George Stephen Zacharias was born to Captain (USAF) Daniel Zacharias on Olga Mahon-Zacharias in King Lynn, England on November 20, 1957. To this union were also born Elizabeth in 1959 and Paul in 1964. Being an Air Force family they resided in Georgia, Texas, Washington State, Northern California, and the Phillipines. George would later tell friends and family how his memories of the years lived in the Phillippines were his fondest. There he met many life long friends and graduated high school in 1975 at Wagner High School at Clark Air Force Base. George moved to the Puget Sound region and graduated from Olympic College. He was a supply clerk at Keyport, Naval Supply Center and Naval Hospital for nearly 20 years. He married his wife Edna in 1989 and they were happily married until his departure from this life on May 28, 2004. George was a dialysis patient and representative with Olympic Kidney Center of over 20 years. George was an unforgettable person. Though many times he struggled with his disability, he was a positive and inspirational person. He was outgoing and friendly, always the first to say hello and loved to converse. Even as he knew his death was imminent his main concern was for those he loved. He will be very missed. He will be remembered for his courage, grace, and dignity. He who dares wins.
