Georgia Gunzer

October 4, 1977 — January 22, 2011

Georgia was tragically taken from us Saturday January 22, 2011 at her home in Tacoma, Washington. Georgia was born October 4, 1977 in Mt. Clemons, Michigan to Kathleen (Donahue) and Michael Gunzer (deceased).  She attended Sylvan Way Baptist School, Bremerton Middle School, graduating from North Kitsap High School in 1996. She worked several years at Spiro’s and Applebee’s as a cook, before graduating from Bryman College in 2005 as a Medical Assistant. She worked for South Sound Medical in Olympia and was working at Sound Family Medicine in Puyallup at the time of her death. Georgia was a compassionate and hard worker in the medical field. She worked diligently to care for others. She was registered to attend Tacoma Community College, where she was starting her studies towards an RN degree. She had a positive, ‘get it done’ attitude that was represented in the nicknames others gave her;  Positive Penelope, Giggles, and Georgia Peach.  We will always remember her wonderful, contagious smile, one that makes us smile even today.  Georgia was a giving and caring person who was always there for her family and friends. Georgia is survived by her daughter Alexis, half-brothers Cameron and Jason, step-siblings Heather (Ryan) Howe, David Baskins, mother Kathleen Donahue (Gary Simpson), Uncle Daniel Donahue, Aunt Tamara (Barry) Stone, Christopher (Tami) Donahue, Michelle (Daniel) Schafer, Danielle Sakrison, Dustin Donahue, Michele Weickum, John (Cheri) Migas, Joel Migas, and many other extended family members. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday February 5, 2011 at 3:00PM, at Christian Life Center at 1780 Lincoln Ave SE in Port Orchard.  Public viewing will be from 1PM to 2PM in the Church Chapel.
