Geraldine L. NicksAugust 14, 1914 - February 7, 2003As the sun rose in the eastern sky on February 7, 2003, the light of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed from this world as she returned to the loving arms of the Lord.Gerri was loved by all who knew her. Her sunny disposition and sweet personality reflected not only the teachings of her parents but her own choice to make each day worthwhile.Many will remember her skill and dedication during the years she served as Administrative Secretary to the Math Department at the Madison Campus of the University of Wisconsin.Gerri was such a devoted wife to her husband, Harry. Not a single day passed by without her singing their favorite love songs with him. This loving tradition was continued by telephone even during her final days in the hospital.Music was one of her passions. Gerri started performing in public when she was only 2. She and her brothers and sisters formed a double quartet, with each one playing a separate instrument as well. Her love of music provided her with many joyful hours as she sat at her piano playing "oldies" and favorite hymns.Gerri was an avid bowler for many years and a great fan of golf, baseball, and football. She was a lifelong "Packer Backer."She was the sweetest Mom, "Gramma" and "Nani" to all of her children and grandchildren. We miss her so but will not say "good-bye". We will be together again.
