Gilbert Nix

Gilbert C. "Gilbo" Nix of Port Orchard, Washington died on April 30, 2004 following a long, courageous battle with cancer. He died at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton,Washington. He was 76. He was born November 15, 1927 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Curtis F. and Nancy E. (Wood) Nix. Gilbert married Kay (Taylor) nix in Witchita Falls, Texas on May 14, 1964. He attended Comanche High School in Comanche, Oklahoma. Gilbert was a Pipefitter Supervisor at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (Shop 56 Nuclear) for 21 years - retiring in 1988l. He coached little league baseball and pee-wee football, enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling (especially going south for the winter). He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Orchard, Washington.
