Gilberte Maxwell-Groskopf

Gilberte "Gil" Maxwell-Groskopf, 79, a resident of Port Orchard, passed away at Ridgemont Terrace Senior Living Center in Port Orchard on July 10. Gil was born in New York City on July 28, 1927. After graduating from high school she moved to California where she met and married her husband Richard Maxwell in September of 1946. Following her husband's death, she married Wilbur "Bud" Groskopf. She was a homemaker for many years and also worked at J.C. Penny in Bremerton. She enjoyed bowling, spending winters in Mesa and Yuma Arizona with good friends, and traveling. Gil is survived by her husband Bud of 7 years; her two sons Rich and wife Kelly of Scottsdale, Arizona, Lee and wife Dianne of Port Orchard, Washington, and daughter Terrisa and husband Tom of Waterford, California, her six grandchildren; Troy, Tony, Travis, Cresta, Robyn, and Tami, and eight great-grandchildren; her stepdaughter Susanne and husband Larry Stine of Poulsbo, Washington, step-grandaughters Tracy of Maui, Hawaii, and Shawna of Seattle, Washington. She will also be missed greatly by many relatives and close friends. Her husband Richard of 52 years and daughter Beverly preceded her in death.
