Gina Verge

April 2, 1986 — November 25, 2008

Gina Verge, 22, passed away on November 25, 2008 of natural causes.  She was born April 2, 1986, at Bremerton Naval Hospital. She graduated from Klahowya Secondary School in 2004 and was attending Olympic College, taking courses toward a degree in business management. Gina also worked for Verizon Wireless in Silverdale, WA. Gina was recognized as an outstanding swimmer, excelling at the early age of 11 as a member of both the Olympic and Maki Aquatic clubs in Bremerton, and later as a record-setting member of the Klahowya School swim team. She enjoyed playing the piano and guitar, listening to all kinds of music and will always be remembered as someone always willing to dance with or without music playing. She was a curious girl with an adventurous spirit who truly loved to travel. Her close friends and family will cherish the memory of Gina as a joyful, beautiful, hilarious, imaginative, creative, motivated, kind and lovable young woman with a delightfully mischievous side to her. She enjoyed all outdoor activities, which included hiking, skiing, riding quads and waverunners and had a passion for her dogs, Molly and Buddah. Gina had a strong belief in God and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was deeply loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her parents, Leilani Anne Reyes of Silverdale, Carl Matthew Verge of Port Orchard, stepmother, Jane Verge of Port Orchard and her parents Barry and Judy Massingham, stepfather, Jerry Christman of Silverdale; grandparents, Erlinda Reynoso of Charleston, SC, and Robert 'Bobby' Reyes of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Mary Ann Veraldi of Glendale, CA; great-grandparents, Barcelisa Reynoso of Bremerton and Marion Willadsen of San Diego.  She was preceded in death by her elder sister, April Verge, who passed away in 2005. Gina was a joy in our lives and always will remain so. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of Gina's life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Silverdale Lutheran Church, 11701 Ridgepoint Drive NW in Silverdale.
