Glen A. Reite, 67 of Olympia passed away in his home April 21, 2014. Glen will be greatly missed by family and friends. We will always remember Glen as an avid hiker, fisherman and gardener.
Glen was born to parents Ralph A. Reite and Bessie (Knight) Reite and raised in Port Orchard. After graduating from South Kitsap High School Glen joined the Navy for 3 years and served in Viet Nam. Upon return he went back to Port Orchard to continue a career in the grocery industry. In 1979 Glen moved to Olympia where he started his family and stayed, retiring from Mega Foods in Tumwater.
Glen is survived by his 2 loving children, Jessica Reite of Kent and Garrett (Bailey) Reite of Lacey and his former wife and friend Sandy Reite of Everett. Glen was excited about spoiling his first granddaughter who is due in July. Memories will be passed on to her through pictures and stories of her grandfather.
Family and friends are invited to remember and honor the life of Glen Reite at a memorial service and reception to be held at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Saturday May 3rd at 11:00.
Because Glen suffered from undiagnosed PTSD after his return from Viet Nam we ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
