Glenn married Barbara Beelaert on July 19, 1975. With their marriage, Glenn gained a daughter in Annie, age five at the time. Two years later, Glenn and Barbara adopted daughter Misty from South Korea, and their family was complete. The family built a waterfront home in Manchester and lived there happily for many years. In 2007, they sold their house and moved to Allyn.

He played guitar and ukulele. He made stained glass windows and painted. Glenn and Barbara had season tickets to Husky football games and frequently attended the Seattle Symphony. After moving to Allyn, Glenn counted salmon for Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group and was even Mr. August in their 2013 calendar. He was an avid reader and history buff.
In his later years, Glenn was a loving companion and caretaker to his mom Gladys. He was the Landscape Chairman of their homeowner’s association. Glenn and Barbara made the most of retirement and traveled frequently, with trips to Italy, England, Japan, South Korea, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Mount Rushmore, the Washington and Oregon coasts, and more.
