Mr. Glenn Svac, Age:77, resident of Port Orchard, died at his home on January 3, 2002.He was born on February 24, 1924, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Andrew and Elizabeth(Dvorak)Svac.He attended Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, graduating in 1942.Mr. Svac served in the United Staes Air Force for four years. On April 17, 1948 he married Alice Jedlicka in Clarissa, Minnesota.Glenn made his career as Deputy Director of Purchasing at Puget Sound Naval Supply Center, Bremerton, Washington, retiring in 1976.He enjoyed photography and the love and company of his family. He was a member of the Lutheran faith.Glenn is survived by his wife, Alice; son, Chuck, and his wife, Lorraine, of Olalla, Washington; daughter, Mary(Svac)Schroeder and her husband Phil, of Tacoma, Washington; brother, Vernon Svac of Saint Paul, Minnesota; sisters, Ann Mellgren and Elsie Hardin of Minneapolis; six grandchildren-Aaron, Alison, Nicole, Randall, Paul and Maureen. He was preceded in death by brothers Edward, Andrew, George and John Svac.A graveside memorial in Mr. Svac's honor will take place on January 9, 2002, at 2:00 p.m., at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Gig Harbor. The family has asked that any memorial donations be made to Hospice of Kitsap County, Post Office Box 3416, Silverdale, Washington, 98383; or a Children's Hospital of your choice.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory in Port Orchard.
