Gloria Leonard

Gloria May Leonard, 81 of Seattle, died March 22, 2011.  She was born December 20, 1929 in Bremerton, WA to Lennox & Marguerite (Olson) Bright.  She graduated from Bremerton HS and Olympic College as an LPN and worked a few years at Harrison Memorial Hospital.  She married Elvin Leonard on March 12, 1954 in Bremerton.  He preceded her in death in 1975. Gloria was a homemaker and mother of 4.  Gloria was also a member of First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard, WA until she moved to Foss Home in Seattle. Gloria enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting, and crocheting and had a life long love of playing classical piano. She preformed several concerts at Foss as well as playing for their church services.  She was elected president or vice president of the Foss Resident Council several times, with many responsibilities including welcoming new residents to Foss, showing them around and telling them of the many actives Foss has to offer. Surviving are sons Tom (Shelly) Leonard of Seattle and Paul (Cheryl) Leonard of Tombstone, AZ; daughters Karen (Rick) Sanborn of Omak, WA and Betty (Dale) Brew of Hattiesburg, MS; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Memorial service 10:00 am on April 12, 2011 at Foss Home & Village, 13023 Greenwood Avenue N, Seattle, WA 98133.  Memorial donations to Foss Home Foundation at the same address.  Online memorial at www.rill.com .
