Gordon Goudy

October 5, 1932 — November 27, 2011

Gordon Robert Goudy, 79 of Port Orchard, died at Hospice Care Center in Bremerton on November 27, 2011.  He was born October 5, 1932 in Redwood Falls, MN to George & Virginia (Pratt) Goudy.  He graduated from Anoka HS in MN and attended the College of Great Falls in MT.  He married Kunie Sakamoto on August 16, 1965 in Great Falls, MT. Gordon worked for 37 years, 20 years with the USAF and 17 years with the FAA as an Avionics Technician, retiring in 1988.  He also served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1971, retiring as a Master Sargent.  He earned the Air Force Commendation Medal, Outstanding Unit Award & Good Conduct Medal. Gordon enjoyed fishing, hiking, hunting and Hop-Along Cassidy movies.  He was a member of the Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club. Surviving are wife Kunie; sons David Goudy of Port Orchard, Roy (Yukari) Goudy of Farmington Hills, MI & Ernest Goudy of Port Orchard; daughters Virginia (Gary) Goudy-Gulett of Silverdale and Susan (Megumi) Goudy of Port Orchard; brothers Bill (Jan) Goudy of Surprise, AZ, Art (Leslie) Goudy of Roswell, NM & Tom Goudy of Alamagordo, NM; sister Virginia Mae Keen; and grandchildren Daniel, Jennifer & Christopher.  He was preceded in death by sister Ruth Goudy. Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 am on December 5, 2011 at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, followed by inurnment at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent at 2:15 pm.  A devoted husband, father and grandfather who put his family above all else.
