Gordon A. Porter of Belfair, Washington died of cancer on March 15, 2004 at his home. He was 71. He was born May 20, 1932 in Phoenix, Arizona to Arthur W. and Madge (Chitwood) Porter. Gordon married Jo Ella (Morris) Porter in Port Townsend, Washington on December 10, 1954. He graduated from high school in Eugene, Oregon in 1950; and, attended University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. Gordon served in the United States Coast Guard from 1952 - 1956. He worked as a purchasing agent (manager) for Lockheed (California) for 9 years; and, for Boeing for 20 years. Gordon enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and golf and woodworking. He was a member of Belfair Assembly of God. He is survived by his wife - Jo E. Porter (Morris) of the Belfair, Washington family home; son - Brian Porter (& wife, Rebecca) of Port Orchard; daughter - Jodi Anderson of Wasilla, Alaska, Denise Denney (& husband, Jerry) of Port Orchard; brother - Phil Porter (& wife, Carol) of Texas; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his identical twin - Warren Porter.
