Gordon Lewis Scheib, 64, died October 11, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center in Bremerton. He had been battling a recurrence of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for almost 2 years. He was born to Walter and Sadie (Erickson) Scheib on January 20, 1946 in Bremerton, WA. He joined the Navy and served our country from 1965-1969. He married Florence (McGuirl) on March 30, 1969 in San Diego, CA. Many people that knew Gordon, knew him from baseball. He spent a total of 17 years volunteering at SKSLL, serving as president for at least 5 of those years. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Flo; daughter Jennie Hawkinson (Tim); sons Eric (Janell), Jason (Sarah), and Adam (Brandy) Scheib; his grandchildren Cameron Kuhn, Jada and Mia Scheib, and his step-granddaughters Tiffany and Kindra Hawkinson; sisters Marilyn Alexander and Arlene (Bob) Mateicka. He is also survived by his very special Fred Meyer family, and a large extended family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Kitsap County P.O. Box 3416 Silverdale, WA 98383. A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at Parkwood Community Club on October 24TH from noon to 5PM.
