Grant Brown

Grant G. Brown, Sr., 82 of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton on September 13, 2010.  He was born January 14, 1928 in Bremerton, WA to Charles & Odie (Royal) Brown.  He graduated from Bremerton High in 1946 and married Doris Haydock on October 30, 1954 in Bremerton.  She preceded him in death in 2008. Grant worked for 24 years as a Nuclear Pipefitter at PSNS, retiring in 1993.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1968 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars.  He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Grant enjoyed his military career and was a member of  Naval Reserves in Bremerton.  He liked working on cars and spent numerous years volunteering his time at P.J's Market. Surviving are son Grant (Liz) Brown Jr. of Port Orchard;  daughter Denise (Al) Rameriz of Santa Maria, CA; sisters Joyce Johnson of Anchorage, AK and Cleo Hoyle of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren Judd, Amy, Gayle, Tracy, Sara, Austin & Catherine; and 5 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by brothers Rex & Lyndle Brown & sister Adena Williamson. Burial at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
