Gregory Edward Moyer

Gregory E. Moyer, loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Friend, passed away on April 21, 2015 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington.
Greg was born on September 12, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Richard and Barbara Moyer. He grew up in Blackwood, New Jersey with his siblings Chris Moyer and Leslie Moyer Wright. He graduated the class of 1976 at Highland Regional High School.
Joining the Navy in 1977, he spent twenty years defending his country, retiring at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He served in the Gulf War and was a recipient of the bronze star and Kuwait Liberation Medal.
Greg’s hobbies include fishing, often taking his canoe to the lake to catch fish, reading books especially by Tom Clancy, was an avid fan of UFC, and also enjoyed his ever growing reptile collection proudly displaying his snakes whenever company stopped by the house.
Greg passed away after a long three year battle with cancer, along with other health complications. He fought strong and hard, but in the end chose to go own on his free will, slipping away peacefully in his sleep.
Greg is survived by his wife, Marcelina (Edith) Moyer of Port Orchard, WA, children Michael Moyer of Port Orchard, WA, Michelle Smith and husband Eric Smith with Grandson Jesse Smith of Wahiawa, HI, Maria Moyer of Port Orchard, WA, and Gloria Moyer of Port Orchard, WA.
He was preceded by his parents, Richard and Barbara Moyer, sister Leslie Moyer Wright, and nephew Collin Wright.
Greg’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center at 11:00am.
