Harold E. Cronce died June 6, 2002 at the Port Orchard Care Center in Port Orchard, WA. He was 79. He was born October 23, 1922 in Mattoon, WI, to John and Nettie (O'Hergert) Cronce. Harold attended high school in Clintonville, WI, and married Darlene Ione Schuman June 16, 1951 in Bremerton, Wa. He was a cook in Tacoma, WA, for a number of years before employment at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA. He went to work for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard during World War II as a security officer and then became a welder. He retired in 1967. He enjoyed playing pool and cribbage, fishing and was a member of the Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife Darlene Ione (Schuman) Cronce of Port Orchard, WA, son Jack Cronce of Port Orchard, WA, Gary Cronce of Grapeview, WA, Robin Cronce of Port Orchard, WA, Daughter Laurie Boyer of Port Orchard, WA, brother Stanley Cronce of Wausau, WI, sister Beatrice Neely of Clintonville, WI, and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Kathleen Joy Cronce and nine siblings.
