Harold Stimmel

Harold Fredric Stimmel, 95 of Port Orchard died September 29, 2010.  He was born March 26, 1915 in Waitsberg, WA to Earl & Georgia (Austin) Stimmel.  He attended Northwest Bible Institute in Seattle, WA in 1942.  He married Vivian Gates on June 27, 1998 in Sandy, OR and she preceded him in death early this year. Harold worked for General Electric for 22 years, retiring in 1977 as an Electrician.  He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945 as a Petty Officer 3rd Class, receiving the Asiatic-Pacifica Area Campaign & World War II Victory medals.  He enjoyed hunting, lapidary & bowling and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Sandy, OR. Surviving are son Larry (Carol) Stimmel; grandchildren Raquel (Mark) Babcock, Chris (Kathi) Stimmel, Tiffany (Greg) Benner; great-grandchildren Taylor & Sydnee Babcock, Kyle & Kayli Stimmel & Kadin Benner.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers & a sister. Celebration of Life Service at 10:00am on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.  Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.  Online memorial at www.rill.com
