She graduated from Lynden High School in Lynden, WA in 1925 and from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Bellingham, WA in 1930.Harriett married Paul Jacobsen in Bremerton, WA in 1970.Harriet was a registered nurse in Kitsap County for 42 years until retiring in 1972. She loved sewing, knitting, traveling, crossword puzzles and belonged to the Retired Nurses Guild in Port Orchard, WA and Bellingham, WA. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church of Port Orchard, WA and Holy Trinity of Bremerton, WA.Harriett is survived by 4 sons: Stephen Foster of Port Ludlow, WA, Dave Foster of Port Orchard, WA, Don Foster of Trialdelphia, West Virginia, Richard Jacobsen of Everett, WA., 3 daughters: Harriett Robinson of Auburn, WA, Linda San Gregory of Tiffin, OH, Martha Morken of Bremerton, WA., 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Harriett is preceded in death by daughter Rosalie Black, son Eugene Jacobsen, 1st husband Floyd Foster and husband Paul Jacobsen.Memorial services will be held at Rill Chapel on May 10, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard, WA.Memorial donations to American Cancer Society, Kitsap Unit, P.O. Box 2383, Bremerton, WA 98310.
