Harriet E. Thomas Metz of Port Orchard, Washington died February 15, 2004 at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard, Washington. She was 85. She was born July 16, 1918 in Pontiac, North Dakota - Cass County to Walter F. and Ann D. (Brennan) Lindemann. She married Harold E. Thomas June 7, 1942 who died October 3,1980; then, married Edward H. Metz in February of 1984. She graduated from Lisbon High School in Lisbon, North Dakota in 1936. She also attended Business College in Fargo, North Dakota - graduating in 1937 or 1938. Harriet was a homemaker. She was Secretary/Building Captain in Retail - working for 11 years and retiring in 1992. Harriet enjoyed gardening, church ministries, family events, music, sewing, grandchildren and children. She was Catholic. Harriet is survived by sons - James Thomas, of Twisp, Washington, Joel Thomas of Port Orchard, Washington, Kevin Thomas of Port Orchard, Washington, Walter Thomas of Fresno, California; daughters - Mary Rathke (& husband, Bill) of Allyn, Washington, Rose Roseland (& husband, Layton) of Sonora, California, Mona Webb (& husband, Doug) of Wenatchee, Washington, Margaret Tippett of Wenatchee, Washington, Shannon Ruiz (& husband, Nery) of Moses Lake, Washington; sister - Audrey Hopkins of Keyport, Washington; 28 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sister - Agnes Burns and daughter - Stephanie Callis. Visitation will be held February 19, 2004 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington. Rosary will be held February 19, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center. A funeral mass will be held February 20, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church - also, in Port Orchard, Washington. Memorial Donations may be made to: Charity of your choice.
