Harry Curtis Fredrickson, born May 3, 1937, was mercifully taken to his Savior and Heavenly Father April 4, 2024.
He was born in Barnesville, MN, to Harry and Martha (Sorum) Fredrickson. He spent his childhood in Minnesota and later North Dakota. He was the oldest of 5 children.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1956 and served 4 years proudly as a Seabee. After the Navy, he moved to California where he met Stephanie Dianne Compagno and they were married on October 20, 1963. Harry and Stephanie were married for 60 years. His parents and siblings also moved to California at that time. He joined the Operating Engineers, Local 3, and began his long and gifted career as a heavy equipment operator.
Harry and Stephanie moved to Washington state in 1972, to the home they shared until his passing. Dad often said, “The first time I turned down that driveway, I knew I was home.”
Harry established Fredrickson Excavating Enterprises in 1976 and his son Curtis joined his father in 1990.
Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry, his mother Martha who lived to 100 years and 8 months, and his brothers John and Kennard.
Harry is survived by wife Stephanie, Bremerton, WA; son Curtis (Heather), Bremerton, WA; daughter Rebecca (Ted Byerly), Melbourne, FL.; sister Doris (Vince Christianson), Bella Vista, CA; and brother Roger Fredrickson (Denise), Roseville, CA.
Harry has 5 grandchildren. Joshua Fredrickson (Hannah Faye), Bremerton WA; Caleb Fredrickson (Natalie), Fredericksburg, VA; twins Rebekah and Hannah Fredrickson, Bremerton, WA; and Davian Byerly, Melbourne, FL.
Harry is also survived by his niece Kim (Tim Duffy), Bella Vista, CA; nephew Christopher Fredrickson (Tien), Castro Valley, CA; nieces Karna Fredrickson and Kari Kersh, Gardnerville, NV.
