Harry was born to Ole & Pernille Rodstol along with his twin brother Henry to complete the Rodstol family at their Harper homestead. After the home was lost to a fire, the family later relocated to the property where Harry's older brother Leonard still resides today. Life was full of chores and responsibilities as laid out by his parents and older brothers and even as a young lad he would attend church with his family and would learn about his Lord and Savior. He graduated from Vashon High School in 1934 along with his brother Henry.During World War II he served his country in Europe in the 10th mountain division in the Army. He was discharged after the war. He returned home and in November 1946 married Betty Jean Stoecker. In 1949 they had a son, David. In October 1950 Betty Jean passed away leaving Harry to care for his young son. For several years his sister-in-laws, Freda and Louise helped care for David. In 1955 he married Dorris Teeter and they moved to North Seattle. They resided in this home until they moved to their Southworth property in 1980. For over 25 years Harry had worked at VanDeKamps Bakeries in Seattle as a baker and he retired in 1980 which allowed for him to move to Southworth. In the late 1980's Dorris became ill and had to be confined to a nursing home. Her care defined the next 39 months of Harry's life as he would travel to the nursing home at least twice a day to provide for his wife. His love and devotion was an inspiration to so many. In June of 1992 Dorris passed away.Harry's life was devoted to his faith in God and his Lord Jesus Christ. He was a student of the word of God and had memorized many scriptures. His family was important, and he loved his family very much and gave so much to help different family members in their times of need. He loved to care for the land and would spend hours mowing the acreage and planting flowers and shrubs.A couple of years after his wife Dorris passed away, Harry found himself needing to have care and his son moved him to the Wenatchee area. For a little more than the last 5 years of his life he was in the care of Dan and Cindy Wood who operated the Entiat Valley Senior Home in Entiat, WA. It was there that the brothers, Oswald, Lawrence, Leonard and Henry joined in one last fellowship with their brother Harry. The care that he received from Dan and Cindy will always be appreciated and remembered. On the late afternoon of May 25th, 2002 God dispatched an angel to take Harry home. Witnessing this passing was his son, David, his daughter-in-law Marcia and his granddaughter Alena. His earthly life was over and the book was closed, but a new beginning started as Harry was ushered into the care and custody of his Lord.He is survived by a son David and daughter-in-law Marcia of Wenatchee. He is survived by his grandson Erik, of Southworth, his grandson Brandon of Wenatchee and his grandaughter Alena of Wenatchee. Also surviving are two brothers, Lawrence of West Seattle and Leonard of Southworth.-----------------------------------A celebration of his life was held on June 5th, 2002 at South Park Assembly of God in Port Orchard, Washington at 1 p.m. Burial was at the Sedgwick Cemetery.
