Harryette Jo Caskey, 88, a resident of Port Orchard, Washington, died in Port Orchard on October 14, 2009 of natural causes. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on October 23, 1920 to Joseph A. and Hilda A. (Hedvall) Melker. She graduated from Pleasant Dale High School in Nebraska and attended Portland State College in Oregon. She married George Caskey on March 17, 1969 in Kelso, WA and he preceded her in death in 1982. She held jobs in the Kaiser Oregon Shipyard as a Cutter; Teachers Aide and Librarian for the Portland School District and Dental Assistant in the 60’s; real Estate Agent in the 60’s and 70’s and owned and operated a charter fishing boat with George in the 70’s in Ilwaco, WA. Harryette loved everything about her immediate and extended families; her dog Trinket who was very special to her died many years ago and her parrot, which she thought was a male until it laid eggs, died just a short time ago. She was preceded in death by her sisters Vyral and Phyllis; son Bill and daughter Patty. She is survived by her son Arthur Jack Feigion (Susan) of Vancouver, WA; brothers Daryl Beach (Yukie) of Osaka, Japan and Dayle Beach of Portland, OR; sisters Thelma and Sharon Joy Beach both of Portland. Visitation is Thursday, October 22nd from noon to 4:30 pm with Celebration of Life on Friday, the 23rd at 11:00 am both at Rill Chapel with interment following at 1:00 in Sunset Lane Memorial Park all in Port Orchard, WA.
