Hazel Olga Day peacefully passed away at Family First, Olalla Home, in Washington on April 5, 2014. She was 93 years old, born August 23, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio. She moved to California while her children were still young. The simple things in life made her happy. She looked forward to yearly summer trips back to Ohio to visit her brother and sisters. She especially loved the family picnics on the farm. Hazel enjoyed dressing up in sparkly clothes and shoes. She treasured the times that she got together with her sister, Mitzi, and went shopping. Her greatest pleasures with shopping continued throughout the years. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Slepko, who passed away at an early age of 30 in 1952. She later married Wilson Day, who passed away in 1991. Hazel had 5 children, William, Frank, Carole, Gloria, and Judy. There are 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Hazel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
