Hazel Walsh

May 20, 1900 — June 23, 1999

Hazel L. Walsh, age 99, died June 23, 1999 in Bremerton, WA. She was born May 20, 1900 in Buckley, WA to Frank and Harriet Sorrell.  She married Frank Walsh in 1916 in South Colby, WA.  During her life she was a practical nurse, worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard during WWII, she was a home health care nurse, a nanny, and she picked and packed brush for Callisons until she was 75 years old.  She then volunteered for various charities and museums in the Bremerton, WA. area.  She was also a life long member of Colby United Methodist Church, a member of the Sweet Adelines Choir Club, the Moose Lodge Drill Team, a Kitsap County Pioneer, and for 20 years was a member of the Frances Haddon Morgan Guild.  She is survived by her sons Lorrin Walsh of Bremerton, WA., Robert Walsh of Colby, WA., daughters Hazel Buss of Port Orchard, WA., Frances Valle of Chicago, Il., Dorothy Dworkin of Chicago, Il., 14 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 48 great great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Walsh in 1968.  Visitation will be June 28, 1999 from 9-5:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held at Colby United Methodist Church June 29, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard, WA.,  Memorials can be made to the Hazel Walsh Memorial Fund, c/o Colby United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4299, South Colby, WA 98384.
