Hazel Young

Ms. Hazel H. Young, Age: 80, resident of Port Orchard, Washington, died on November 19, 2001 following a long term illness.Ms. Young was born on October 25, 1921 in Newport, South Dakota to William and Anna(Carro) Korthour. On November 25, 1963 Hazel married Ivo R. ''Bud'' Young in Bremerton, Washington. He preceded her in death in 1993.Hazel was a Homemaker, and enjoyed her friends and family. She was a member of the Central Kitsap Christian Church.She is survived by a brother, Raymon Korthour of South Dakota; a sister, Louise Burns, of South Dakota; and a niece, Kimberly O'Brien of Port Orchard.A memorial service will be held in her honor on Monday, November 26, 2001, at 11:00 a.m., at Rill Chapel. Chaplain Wayne Streutker will officiate.Private interment will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bremerton.Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4414 Woodland Park Avenue North, Seattle, Washington 98103; or to the American Diabetes Association, 557 Roy Street, Lower Level, Seattle, Washington, 98109-4219.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
