Heinrich "Skip" Richard Heine Ii

January 21, 1941 — October 30, 2019

Heinrich R (Skip) Heine II was born January 21, 1941 in Chicago in the back of a taxicab when returning from his Grandfather's birthday party. He was named after his Grandfather. He went to heaven October 30, 2019. He was a typical Navy brat traveling the country. His father was stationed in Pearl Harbor when it was attacked.

When he was 14, he entered the Central Luzon Agricultural College in the Philippines. There he earned 18 Vocational Diplomas . His father put him into the Navy at 17, it was 1958. Skip never looked back. He loved the Navy life. Skip served in the Navy for 32 years and retired as a Master Chief Engineman. For his service in Vietnam, he received a Bronze Star, a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. Skip was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Skip was dedicated to his Christian Faith, his family and his country. He loved to go to the ocean with his family. Skip loved a good meal and always cleaned his plate. He enjoyed spending time with friends around the holidays. Skip like to garden especially his roses. His favorite color was 'Haze Gray and Under Way." He loved rainy days.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of 26 years, his daughter Rachel, sons; Father Matthew Kunkel, Charlie (Rachel) Kunkel and Wally Moquia & family. Skip's grandson, Henry Kunkel, is named after him, Philip is a grandson also. He is also survived by other grandchildren, nieces & nephews. He is survived by his sister, Patty Bates and his
brothers, John & Michael Heine.

He loved his dog, Reggie, who brought him great joy. He felt Reggie helped even the odds in his household. Skip's main mission in life was to care for his family and friends because of his soft heart.

His Funeral Mass will be 11am on Friday, November 8, 2019 at St Gabriel Catholic Church, 1150 Mitchell Ave, Port Orchard, Washington. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St Vincent de Paul in Bremerton or Port Orchard or your local Food Bank. Please dress comfortably for this service as Skip would like. Reception immediately following in the church hall. All are invited.
