HELEN H. BOZINSKI (CLIFTON)
Helen H. Bozinski (Clifton), 81 years old, of Port Orchard, WA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11th at the Ridge Care Center in Silverdale, WA.
Helen was born on January 4th, 1943, in Benson, North Carolina to Mary Edna (Holmes) and Rufus E. Clifton.
Helen moved from North Carolina to Seattle, WA in 1954 after the unfortunate early passing of her Father Rufus. She would attend school in West Seattle and reside on Alki Beach with her Mother and Sister, Addie Jean Larson.
Following school, Helen worked in the banking business. On weekends she loved to go dancing. As she would say, “I was fond of men in uniform”. Maybe it was because her Father was a police officer. It wasn’t long after that she would marry her man in uniform, US NAVY Sailor, Charles J Bozinski. They officially wed in November of 1967 in San Diego, CA.
Shortly thereafter they would relocate to Port Orchard, WA., to buy a home and start a family. However within a year they decided to move closer to Charles’s family in Superior, WI., and continue their dream.
As fate would have it, they would end up back in Port Orchard by 1981 and live out their years together in Washington State. Together through it all, they were married for 49.5 wonderful years.
Helen was an immaculate housekeeper and enjoyed being a caring Wife and loving Mother. She worked a few part time jobs when needed, at local care centers and the Port Orchard KMART. However, her real passion was watching over her family.
She enjoyed shopping, decorating her home and any good southern cooked recipe. Especially her ‘potluck famous potato salad’. Most evenings were spent watching COPS or a good police based television program. Couple of highlights in life was learning to play the steel guitar and doing a ride along with the Kitsap Sheriffs Department.
Helen was proceeded in death by her beloved Husband, Charles and her Sister Addie Jean Larson.
She is survived by her three children: Michael (Caroline) Bozinski, Gena Lubken-Bozinski, and Dana (James) Porter, all from Port Orchard, WA. Six Grandchildren: Randi, Cassidy, Bailey, Kayla, Matthew, and Carissa. One great grandchild - Tucker.
Helen will be laid too rest at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, WA. A private ceremony will be held for family members only.
