Helen Gahler

Former Port Orchard resident Helen B. Gahler, 90, of Arlington, WA died in Everett, WA on January 28, 2008. She was born October 23, 1917 in Portland, OR to Ragnvald & Flossie (Eltz) Olden. She married Arnold R. Gahler October 6, 1942 in Portland, OR, and they resided in Port Orchard from 1979 to 2004. He preceded her in death in 1996. Helen was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting & making cut out Birthday theme cakes. She loved time with her family, her cat Ajax & watching birds. She was a member of Eastern Star. Surviving are daughter Carolyn (Stan Shaff) Beddingfield of Arlington, WA; son William R. Gahler of Kent, WA; grandchildren Tracy (Dave Straughen) Beddingfield of Marysville, WA; Jeremy (Lisa Schultz) Beddingfield of Stanwood, WA; Chris (Erin) Boxwell of Tualatin, OR, and Anthony R. Gahler; nieces Mary (Glen) Post & Beverly Donan and nephew Scott McAuley, all of Oregon. She was preceded in death by sister Beverly McAuley. Visitation from 9:00 am to the Funeral Service at Noon on February 2, 2008 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Burial will follow at Sunset Lane Memorial Park, also in Port Orchard. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Charity of Choice.
