Helen Matz

Helen Mae Hanson Matz, 74, died on Sept. 1st, 2010.  She was born April 18th, 1936 in Estelline, South Dakota to Alfred and Thora Hanson. Helen was 10th of 11 children.  She graduated from Bryant High School in 1954.  Helen held various jobs during her life as a dental assistant, key punch operator, and a social worker.  Helen worked hard all her life.  Helen is survived by three step children, 7 siblings, and 38 nieces and nephews.  Helen was like a second Mom to her many nieces and nephews. Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne F. Matz, three brothers and two nieces.   Helen and Wayne shared a happy life for over 3 decades in Port Orchard, Wa. Family and Friends are invited to Celebration of Life at 1pm, Thursday Sept. 9th at Elim Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.  Graveside interment to follow privately with family at Island Lake Cemetery in Silverdale.
