Helen Edna Reed

September 7, 1929 — November 13, 2020

On November 13th 2020 after Susan finished combing her hair to look beautiful when she would be reunited with the love of her life, Helen quietly passed away at the age of 91.

Now we know that Mom and Dad are together again riding off into the sunset on the horse that Dad had waiting for her like he did on their first date.

Helen E. Reed of Bremerton, WA, died peacefully at her son, Harvey E. Reed’s home, surrounded by her two children Susan Melchior, Harvey E. and daughter-in-law Jill.

No services are scheduled at this time due to COVID-19. She is interned at Sunset Lane Memory Park Port Orchard, WA next to her beloved husband of 68 years.

Arrangements were made by Rill’s Life Tribute Center, Port Orchard, WA.

Helen was born in Port Orchard, WA and adopted by Antonia and Frank Collins on September 7, 1929. she went to school at South Kitsap. She married Harvey K. Reed on August 31, 1949 in Port Orchard, WA. She worked as a Title Clerk for AAA for 37 years.

She loved working in her garden and playing with her cats. Helen loved her cats and opened her home to many cats over the years providing them love, care and companionship.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Harvey K. Reed and her parents.

Helen is survived by son, Harvey E. (Jill); daughter Susan Melchior (Rodger). Grandchildren: Shannon Spencer (Don); Angela Catron (Bill); Carin Weier (John); Ryan Reed (Lindsey). Great Grandchildren Kayla Petersen; Andrew Catron (Lydia); Nathan Weier; Melanie Catron; Caden Weier.

Memorials may be given to Kitsap Humane Society, 9167 Dickey Rd NW Silverdale, WA.
