Helen Marie Schilaty of Port Orchard, Washington died at her home September 10, 2004. She was 95. She was born February 7, 1909 in Leavenworth, Washington to Fred C. and Linnie (Smith) Swaney. Helen married John Schilaty September 21, 1929. She graduated from Snohomish High School in Snohomish, Washington in 1927; and, from Olympic College (Practical Nursing School) in Bremerton, Washington in the 50's. She worked as a practical licensed nurse at Horton's Nursing Home (previously in Bremerton) for 12 years. She retired in 1971. Helen enjoyed nursing and caring for others; loved cats, baseball; was an avid reader. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Port Orchard, Washington. Helen is survived by son - John (Jack) Schilaty of Vancouver, Washington; daughters - Sharon Knutsen of Silverdale, Washington, Janet Anthony of Olalla, Washington; 7 grandchildren (Katy Knutsen, Bob Anthony, Daniel Anthony, Dave Anthony, Mike Schilaty); 5 great-granchildren (Heather Anthony, Rachael Knutsen, Dave Anthony, Molly-Dent, Silas Anthony); 4 great-great-grandchildren (Dever Anthony, Sage Anthony, Alan Dent, Floyd Dent). She was preceded in death by grandson - Jon Knutsen (1985) and by granddaughter - Patti Rae Stone (2002). A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center. Inurnment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
