Henry Muyskens

Henry "Hank" F. Muyskens died of cancer at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on September 23, 2002. He was 75.He was born to Henry and Hilda (Fleming) Muyskens February 4, 1927 in Puyallup, Washington.Hank graduated from South Kitsap High School of Port Orchard, Washington in 1945. He also graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington in 1950 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and Masters degree in Mathematics.He served in the U.S. Navy in 1946.Hank married Barbara B. (Smith) Muyskens August 22, 1952 in Port Orchard, Washington.He taught school at South Kitsap High School for 7 years, and retired as a college professor at Olympic College in Bremerton - 41 years entire teaching career - retiring in 1991. He loved playing and coaching baseball and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He also enjoyed trains. He was a member of Kitsap Old Timers, Phi Delta Cappa, former scout for the New York yankees.He was a Christian.Hank is survived by his wife Barbara "Bobbie" (Smith) Muyskens of Port Orchard, Washington; son Allan Muyskens (and wife Cindy) of Port Orchard, Washington; daughters - Susie Scott (and husband Austin) of Bremerton, Washington and Sally Harn (and husband Mike) of Olympia, Washington; sister Ruth Chopp (and husband Mel) of Gig Harbor, Washington; 6 grandchildren - Brad, Ryan and Alex Muyskens; Haley, Jakob and Brooklyn Belle Harn.Visitation will be held September 27, 2002 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Rill Chapel of Port Orchard, Washington. A funeral service will be held September 27, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. - also at Rill Chapel.
