Iain David Patrick Bates was born in Paisley, Scotland on December 9, 1974. He lived in Charleston, SC and Newport News, VA before moving to the Bremerton, WA area in 1980.
He attended Central Kitsap schools, graduating from Olympic High School in 1996. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Silverdale 1st Ward.
Iain passed away Oct 17, 2013 after a short illness. He is survived by his parents, David and Vernetta Bates; brothers John, Jared, and Joseph Bates of Kitsap County; and sister Loreda Shoup, of Midland, TX.
Memorial service will be held at 1PM, Tues, October 22, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9256 Nels Nelson Rd NW, Bremerton, WA 98311. Online memorial at www.rill.com .
