Irene Sapp Cronkhite Died December 21, 2004 Port Orchard, Washington Born December 22, 1918 in Sumner, Nebraska to Roy Joseph Lewis and Mabel Angeline Hedges Lewis. Raised and educated at Elm Creek and Lexington, Nebraska, graduating from Lexington High School in May 1935. Married Wilson Clark Sapp in Seattle - February 4, 1940. Lived in Cottage Grove, Oregon for one year. They moved to Port Orchard in June of 1942. Employed at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1942 - 1943 and then from 1951 to 1970 in the Central Tool Shop. Wilson Sapp died April 27, 1959 at the age of 47. Irene married Lee V. Cronkhite on February 19, 1970. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1981. She was also preceded in death by Her Father - 1954 Her Mother - 1955 Her brother Harold - 1971 Her sister Vivian - 1988 Her sister Marie - 2000 leaving her the last member of her generation of the Lewis family. Surviving her is her son Robert Edward Sapp and wife Melode' of Port Orchard and grandsons Wilson E. Sapp and Ronald W. Sapp both of Bremerton. Step children Barbara Cronkhite Passe' of Cashmere, and Derrick Cronkhite of Brownsville. In addition numerous nieces and nephews and step grandchildren. She was a member of The United Methodist Church from early childhood to the time of her death. She was a Life Member of Women's Home Missionary Society from the age of 12 through the Home Guard in Lexington, Nebraska. She was a member of the Bremerton Eagles Aux. 192 and bowled in their league for many years. Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 27, 2004 at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Committal service and burial following at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
