Irene Bertha Davis, 82, of Belfair, Washington died November 8, 2001 at her residence. She was born October 13, 1919 in Seattle, Washington to Sam & Amelie (Chaffin) Roulot. On February 15,1942 she married Thomas Davis Jr. in Port Orchard, Washington. Mrs. Davis attended South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard graduating in 1937 and went on to Bremerton Business College. She was very active in community functions and made a career of raising her family. She was a life member of the Mason County Historical Society, Life member of PTA, 30 years on the Board of North Mason Friends of the Library, Charter member of Mason County Cemetery District One, 16 years as a Commissioner of Port of Allyn, Charter member of Union River Basin Protection Association, Citizen of the Year award from North Mason Chamber of Commerce, Active in Belfair Farmers Market, Several years on Board of Hood Canal Environmental Council, Sometimes active in Mason County Democrats and 35th district Democrats, off and on, including precinct committeeperson, for 30 years, and sold produce at Davis Farm during summer and fall for 20years.She is survived by her husband Thomas Davis Jr., of Belfair; 5 sons- James C. Davis, Bremerton; John A. Davis, Kennan, Wi; Benjamin R. Davis, Port Orchard; Stanley E. Davis, Belfair; Michael A. Davis, Belfair; 5 daughters- Lora A. Wood, Gig Harbor; Sharon M. Hankinson, Belfair; Peggy VanBuskirk, Belfair; Marilyn L. Davis, Belfair; Jacquelyn L. Mastel, Belfair, a sister Eva Davis, Longview; 37 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.Public Services will be 1:00pm on Sunday, November 18, 2001 at North Mason High School.
