Irene D. Jacobs, 101, died September 27, 1998 at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard. She was born September 27, 1897 in Calumet, Michigan to John and Engla Lypsinmaa and was raised and attended school in Seattle, Washington. After graduation she worked at a variety of retail stores. During WWI she sold bonds, rolled bandages & wrote to soldiers. She worked in the tool room at Boeing during the Korean War. Irene was a member of Pythian Sisters; Harper Garden Club; Dr. A.G. Allen Aux. of Children's Hospital; Finnish Drama Society in Seattle; Democratic Party; Elim Lutheran Church; and San Souci Club. Survived by son Curtis Jacobs, Jr. of Bothell, daughters Audrey Morrow of Manchester and Winona Sears of Bothell, 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
