Jack Clifford Coleman was born January 12, 1934 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, the son of Clifford and Leota Coleman; older brother to James (Mike) Coleman and Joseph Coleman. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in Electrical Engineering and earned a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Missouri. He joined the Air Force in 1956 serving as an Engineering Support Officer for early warning systems until 1971, reaching the rank of Major. After leaving the Air Force, he went to work at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as an electrical engineer. He retired from the Shipyard in 1991. He passed away quietly with his son at his side. While attending Squadron Officer School at Maxwell AFB in Alabama, he met his future wife, Pat Coleman. They were married on December 16th, 1961 and raised two wonderful children Lisa Gale and David Anthony. Jack is survived by his daughter Lisa Burgess of Virginia and her husband Peter, his son David of Silverdale and his wife Cathy and his brother James (Mike) Coleman and his wife Karen. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Alex, Chris and Caitlin Burgess and Allison, Zachary and Grace Coleman. His family was very important to him and he cherished the time with his grandchildren. After he retired he spent many hours helping Pat with her many quilting projects and most recently with her contributions of Comfort Quilts to the Seattle Children's Hospital. He was an avid reader, became active in a local walking club, and enjoyed working on his computer. He was a charter member of South Kitsap Presbyterian Church (now Adventure of Faith Church) in Port Orchard and was active in the church for many years. A memorial will be held at Rill Tribute Center on June 11th, 9:00 – 10:30 am. He will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery with Military Honors on June 11th.
