Jack W. Grable, 85, of Port Orchard, WA died Thursday, September 8, 2011 at his home. Jack was born July 4, 1926 in Estacada, OR to Harry and Etta (McWillis) Grable. He married the former Betty Martin in Portland, OR. Jack served in the U.S. Army during WWII from September 5, 1944 to April 24, 1947. He was a Welder with P.S.N.S. for 24 years, retiring December 24, 1986. Jack served on the Port Orchard City Council, was voted Port Orchard Man of the Year in 2002, was a life time member of both the Masonic Lodge in Port Orchard and the Port Orchard V.F.W. Post 2669, and a volunteer fire fighter for 26 ½ years in Port Orchard. His interests included welding, volunteer work, walking their dogs, and working on Fathoms of Fun floats. He is survived by his wife Betty of the family home in Port Orchard; sons, Gary (Louise) and Lary (Connie); daughters, Bonnie Grable, Betty (Dick) Grothen, Jackie Grable, Billie Grable, and Lori (Dave) Mueller; brother, Gene Grable; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2 pm, Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Burial will be at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard. Online memorial at www.rill.com .
