Jack Elsworth Stockwell, 85, of Bremerton died Saturday of congestive heart failure. He wa born to Dewey E. and Faye L. (Mowery) Stockwell in Denver, Colorado. He served in the Navy from 1937 to 1942 and later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He also was a bus driver for South Kitsap School District. Mr. Stockwell was a member of American Legion, VFW, Cataldo Lodge and Square Steppers. He enjoyed square dancing, playing the fiddle, music, traveling, boating and repairing old cars. He was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Lynne Stockwell. He is survived by his stepson, Donald M. Carstensen; sister, Harriett Hayden of Torrance, California; nieces, Marsha Hinchman, Cindy Soler and Jerilynne Wooller; nephews, Gary Hayden and Kent Hayden; and 19 grandnieces and nephews. Graveside service: 12 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
