James Abney

James L. Abney, 65, of Port Orchard, WA died May 12, 2001 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton. James was born July 18, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan. Jim attended Cranbrook Prep School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan & attended College at Duke University.James was a Captain in the Air Force from 1956 until 1966 and flew several types of airplanes, he flew a KC 9D, KC 135 & B-25 so it's not surprising his main career was an Airline Pilot with Continental Airlines from 1966 until 1985. From 1985 to 1995 James worked for the Airlines Pilot Association as a Contract Negotiator he and & Rose were married October 13, 1979 in Evergreen, Colorado and made their home in Port Orchard.Surviving are his wife; son Greg Abney of Alby, New York; daughters Troy Abney of Riverside California; Stacey Benson of Aurora, Colorado and Susan Benson of Denver, Colorado and six grandchildren.Services are pending.
