James ''Bear'' Scott

Mr. J.Lloyd ''Bear'' Scott, Age:62, died of natural causes in Bremerton, Washington. He had resided in Port Orchard.James Lloyd Scott was born on September 17, 1939 at Redondo Beach, California to Lloyd and Dorothy (Clewett)Scott. He graduated from Miracosta High School in Redondo Beach in 1957.He married JoAnn Forney in Las Vegas on December 19,1981. ''Bear'' chose a career as a commercial truck driver, working both for Teamsters and as an independant driver. He retired after twenty seven years in 1992. He then substituted as a school bus driver for the South Kitsap School District for four years.''Bear'' truly enjoyed auto racing, and the love and company of his family.He is survived by a son, Mike Straight of Port Orchard; daughters, Lynnette Lee of Port Orchard; Connie Richardson of Lake Tahoe, Nevada; Cheryl Reed of Las Vegas; Shawn Ornberg of Bremerton, Washington; Jane Young of Las Vegas; Katie Carter of Woodenville; brother, William Cooper of Anaheim, California; sister, Linda Martin of Victorville, California; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn, on November 10, 1998.A funeral service is scheduled at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard for Friday, November 30, 2001 at 3:00 p.m.. Visitation of ''Bear'' is scheduled for Thursday, November 29, from noon until 5:00 p.m., and on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until the service, at 3:00 p.m.. The Reverend Larry Mead will be officiating.Burial will take place on December 1, 2001, at Riverview Cemetery in Oroville, Washington.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
