James "Jim" G. Bennett of Port Orchard, passed away April 29, 2016 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Jim was born May 27, 1959 in Gideon, Missouri to the late Girdon and Evelyn Bennett. On June 25, 1983 he married Rhonda Hillis.
Jim was the Pastor of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Port Orchard Washington. He graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1977 and The College of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri in 1981. He went to work for Walmart stores after graduation. He was promoted to District Manager in 1988. He was employed with Walmart until he took early retirement in 1998 to become Pastor of Wagonwheel Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson, Nevada until the Lord moved him to Washington in 2009.
Surviving are his wife Rhonda; daughters Christy (Tim) Paddock of Copperas Cove, TX, Jordon(Jeff) Triggs of Lakewood, WA, and Jenny Bennett of Port Orchard, WA; granddaughters Lorelei and Jessica Paddock; grandsons Cody and Andrew Triggs;, sisters Pam (Curt) Barnes and Kim (Ben) Te, both of Poplar Bluff, MO; several other family members along with several church family members. He was preceded in death by both parents and his grandparents.
A memorial service will be held May 27, 2016, 1:00pm at Northwest Missionary Baptist Church in Port Orchard.
