James H. Blythe, Sr., 72 of Port Orchard died in Bremerton on April 26, 2009. He was born October 6, 1936 in Napa, California to Antone & Julia ett (Gordon) Blythe. He graduated from Napa High School in 1954. He married Darlene Lindall on June 5, 1982 in Port Orchard. James worked as a Pipefitter for 29 years at Mare Island & Puget Sound Naval Shipyards, retiring in 1993. He served in the Army National Guard from 1954-1956 and the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, dogs & cats. Surviving are wife Darlene; sons James Blythe, Jr. of Port Orchard, Michael (Meagan) Blythe of Shelton & Thomas Blythe of N. Richland Hills, Texas; daughters Deborah (Mike) Buc of Las Vegas, Nevada & Kristina (Jon) Herrick of N. Richland Hills, Texas; brothers Buck Blythe of Gig Harbor, Washington and Nick (Kathleen) Blythe of Snyder, Texas, sisters Rosie (Wade) Peterson of Bremerton, Andrea Kitchen of Port Orchard, Bonnie Blythe & Carol Quirk of Monroe, WA, Becky (Chris) Wagner of Spirit Lake, Idaho; grandson Mikey Blythe of Shelton; and extended family David Caffee. Graveside service 1:00pm on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard with visitation from 10:00 am to noon prior to the service.
