James Burnett

Mr. James Cecil Burnett,, Age:75, died of cancer, at his residence in Silverdale, Washington on February 3, 2002.James was born on August 19, 1926 in Wilburton, Oklahoma to John and Ann(Perdue)Burnett. He graduated from Vallejo High School in Vallejo, California in 1944. He attended Colorado University in Boulder, Colorado.On January 1, 1952 James married Wilma J. Mattson. He spent thirty years as a Civil Engineering Technician in the San Francisco Bay area, retiring in 1983.James enjoyed flying and playing the piano. He was a member of the Protestant faith.James is survived by his wife, Wilma, of the family home; sons, James Jr. and Mark of Bremerton; son, William of Beaverton, Oregon; son, Ted of Poulsbo, Washington; daughter, Jeanine Oswald of Kingston, Washington; brother, Charles Burnett of San Jose, California; brother, Paul Burnett of Grand Junction, Colorado; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.A funeral service is being held on Thursday, February 7, 2002 at 12:00 p.m., at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Washington. Reverend Larry Mead will be officiating.Viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 6, 2002 from 12:00 until 5:00 p.m., and on Thursday, from 9:00 until 12:00 p.m.. A reception will follow at Rill Chapel's Hospitality room. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Poulsbo.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
