James Coon

Mr. James A. Coon, resident of Port Orchard, Washington, died on October 27, 2001 in Port Angeles, Washington. Mr. Coon was 51 years of age.He had been born on October 10, 1950 in Battle Creek, Michigan to John and Jorgine(Sturland) Coon. He graduated from Sultan High School, Sultan, Washington in 1968.On December 18, 1970 James married Kathy A.Hanson.He worked as a Land Surveyor with the Kitsap County Engineering Department in Port Orchard for twenty three years.He greatly enjoyed fishing and boating.James is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the family home; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Stephanie Coon of Bellingham, Washington; daughter, Jody, and son-in-law, Bob Enriquez of McCleary, Washington; brother, John Coon of Monroe, Washington; and grandson, Jacob Coon. He was preceded in death by his parents. A public viewing will be held at Rill Chapel, Port Orchard, on Tuesday, 10-30-2001, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Long Lake Community Center in Port Orchard.Arrangements are under arrangements of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory.
