James Fargo

The Rev. James J. Fargo, 76 of Port Orchard died April 25, 1999 at Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center.He was born May 5, 1922, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the Rev. Myron and Nellie (Sisk) Fargo.On May 28, 1944, he married his wife, Zola, in Vallejo, California.The Rev. Fargo served served in the Navy during WWII.  Following the war and his graduation from Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho, he and his wife pastored churches in California, Oregon, Nebraska and Idaho.  After retiring from the ministry, he worked in civil service in Indianapolis and retired from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, completing 16 years of service.He enjoyed singing in a men's quartet and was talented in playing the saxophone. Survivors include his wife, Zola Fargo of the family home; 2 Son's and Daughter-in Laws, Jim and Stephanie Fargo of Port Orchard and Steve and Linda Fargo of Coppell, Texas; a half brother, Donald Fargo of Butlerville, Ind; six grandchildren, Jerilyn Fargo of Coppell, Keith Fargo of Bremerton, David Fargo, Emily Vail, Stephen Vail and Melissa Price, and one great grandson, Erik Price, all of Port Orchard. He was preceded in death by a brother, John.A memorial Service will be at 2pm on Saturday, May 1, 1999 at Grace Bible Church in Port Orchard. A private inurnment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery.Memorials may be made to Grace Bible Church, Music Dept, 7070 Bethel Burley Rd SE, Port Orchard, Wa 98367
