James Feldhausen

James L. Feldhausen, age 56, a resident of Port Orchard, died October 10, 2009 of Multiple System Atrophy (Parkinson’s disease). He was born on May 23, 1953 in Hot Springs, South Dakota to Clayton C. and Lucina (Wheeler) Feldhausen. He married Cherie Lewis on July 15, 1978 in Bothel. He served in the United States Navy (Submarine Service) from 1972 to 1992 attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer and was a Viet Nam Veteran. He first served on Surface Craft and switched to submarines out of Pearl Harbor in 1978 and Trident Subs out of Bangor, Washington. After his retirement from the Navy he built log homes for two years and worked as a Storekeeper for ten years at Bangor providing supply support for Submarines. He owned Harley Davidson motorcycles and loved fishing and hunting. He is survived by his loving wife Cherie of Port Orchard and daughter Jennifer; brother John Feldhausen and sister Betty Feldhausen, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado. There will be a memorial service at the family home in Port Orchard on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:00 am.
