James Gandy

James Allan Gandy, 58, died of Huntington's Disease at home in Burley, WA on August 20, 2009.  He was born September 27, 1950 in Bremerton, Washington to Jack & Sonia (Dahlquist) Gandy.  He graduated from West High in Bremerton in 1969 and married Rose Nast on December 14, 1974, also in Bremerton. James worked as an Electronics Mechanic at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton.  He also served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973, receiving 2 campaign medals for Vietnam and the National Defense Service Medal.  He was a member of the VFW in Silverdale for 30 years and an adult supervisor for Port Orchard Rainbow Girls in the 1970's. Surviving are wife Rose; daughter Mariah Gandy of Burley; sisters Judy Easton of Bremerton & Linda Drouin of Tacoma; nieces & nephews D.J., James & Julie Easton, Tony & Jeremy Drouin, Jason Scherger; 14 great- nieces & nephews.  Preceded by sister Jackie Scherger on June 20, 2009 of Huntington's. Memorial service 2:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2009 at Port Orchard Masonic Temple, 1024 Sidney.  Memorial donations to Hereditary Disease Foundation, 3960 Broadway, 6th Floor, New York NY 10032.
