James Wilson Grant, 90 of Port Orchard, Washington died at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Washington on February 11, 2006. More affectionately known as "Wilson", he was born to James E. and Rose (Sackman) Grant in Sprague, Washington on July 24, 1915. The family moved to Port Orchard in 1917 and Wilson had been a resident there for the last 88 years. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1933. After high school, he and his brother Lyle owned a saw mill and lumberyard. He met the love of his life Ellora "Peg" Kelly in Bremerton. They were married on November 5, 1938 and were together for 67 years. Wilson joined the Navy in 1946 and returned to the sawmill and lumberyard when his enlistment was completed. He also got into the logging business which he did most of his working life. Later in life he also worked in real estate in the 1970's and 80's. Among the things he enjoyed most were square dancing and touring in the RV with his wife. He also like to fish and hunt. He was a member and Past President of the Knights of Pythias. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Lyle and Charles Grant. He is survived by his loving wife Ellora "Peg"; sons James L. Grant (Melissa Crane - life mate) of Poulsbo, Terrel "Terry" W. Grant of Bremerton; daughters Linda J. Hoover (Ray R.) of Magnolia, Texas; sisters Ann Woolridge (Bob) of Seattle and Betty O'Brien of Lacey, Washington; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be Monday, February 20, 9:00am to 1:00pm at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. A Celebration of Life service will be Monday, February 20, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Interment will be at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
