James Hutchins

Mr. James Leslie Hutchins of Silverdale, WA, died on May 29, 2001. Mr. Hutchins was born on October 17, 1919 in Tacoma, WA, to Lawrence andMable(Gleason) Hutchins.Mr. Hutchins attended high school at Port Washington Bay in Silverdale, WA., graduating in 1938. He also attended the University of Washington in Seattle.Mr. Hutchins served in the United States Navy as a machinist. He served in WWII and the Korean War. He received the WWII Victory Medal and the Korean Service Medal.Mr. Hutchins then spent thirty years working in retail flooring both in Bremerton and Oak Harbor.He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and loved music.He is survived by a son, Jim Hutchins of Bothell, WA., a brother, Lawrence J. Hutchins of Bremerton, WA, and two grandchildren.A service will be held in his honor at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at 11 a.m.
